Sterilization Operator Course (O.ST.)

The Sterilization Operator Course (O.ST.) is designed to train or enhance the skills of any professional responsible for the qualified, accountable, and up-to-date sterilization of instruments and medical devices. This applies to professionals working in both public and private medical, dental, and veterinary clinics/offices/centers, as well as in public and private facilities where equipment sterilization is required. The course thus represents an opportunity for both cultural and professional enrichment and allows participants to gain specialized knowledge in decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and quality control processes related to these activities.

The partner of the Master’s program is the ISTITUTO STOMATOLOGICO TOSCANO, chaired by Professor Ugo Covani.

The course is delivered entirely online, available 24/7 via an e-learning platform.

Language: Italian

Course Start Date: Enrolment is open at any time.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE:
Students who successfully pass the assessment tests will receive, upon completion of the course, a certificate of attendance and successful completion of the University Training/Refresher Course in “STERILIZATION OPERATOR – O.ST.”

Purposes

At the end of the training/refresher course, the University and IST will issue a certificate of attendance, confirming the completion of specific training and professional development as a Sterilization Operator. The learner will be fully qualified to carry out tasks related to decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and quality control of the processes and products resulting from these activities, in healthcare or professional settings where equipment sterilization is required. The course thus represents an opportunity for both cultural and professional enrichment.

Methodology

The course will be delivered in an e-learning format, with a platform accessible 24/7. The learning pathway is supported by online educational materials, organized into work modules. Both the theoretical and practical components will make use of pre-recorded lessons (distance learning). The practical teachings are designed to consolidate, reinforce, and stabilize the concepts presented during the theoretical lessons, with the aim of training learners to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations, solving problems and finding effective solutions.
